Aion: Ascension Launching April 11 - New Details on 3.0 Update, C.U.B.E. and Atreian Atlas

March 15, 2012 — Today, NCsoft revealed additional details about Aion: Ascension™, a powerful combination of its Truly Free business model, pioneered by NCsoft's Lineage II in 2011, and the highly anticipated 3.0 update. Aion: Ascension™ has no subscriptions, no account tiers and no purchase requirements. Aion: Ascension brings with it a new feature never-before-seen in the microtransaction world known as the Customizable User Bundling Experience, (C.U.B.E.™) which allows players to make their very own bundles for purchase. Players will also have access to the Atreian Atlas™, which gives them an unparalleled level of information helpful in guiding their character's journey through Atreia. Aion: Ascension and all of these new features launch on April 11.

C.U.B.E.

NCsoft prides itself on pushing the boundaries in providing players with exactly what they want, and the C.U.B.E. is a perfect example of this. Players simply purchase the C.U.B.E., at a standard price from the new Aion store (the Black Cloud Marketplace) and they can take home as many items as they can fit in it. Players who purchase these DIY bundles are also rewarded with bonus items, depending on the size of the C.U.B.E. they purchase. C.U.B.E.'s will be available for pre-purchase on April 4 and players will receive their new items for immediate use on April 11.

Atreian Atlas

Aion players will also enjoy the new Atreian Atlas which functions as an always-on, benevolent, veteran gamer willing to help players throughout the game. Depending on the character and the play style of the gamer, the Atreian Atlas will pull up a customized path detailing where they've been and a personal program detailing upcoming challenges. Players will be able to click on each mission revealing difficulty, minimum suggested level, related quests as well as comprehensive interactive maps, video guides and information on the bosses they will encounter. The information revealed within the Atreian Atlas allows players the opportunity to properly prepare for future challenges.

In addition to the Truly Free business model, the C.U.B.E. and the Atreian Atlas, we'd like to remind you of the upcoming features coming in Aion: Ascension coming with the 3.0 content update.
